With the addition of the 2019 Spartan Gladiator Rescue Pumper to the Barren Hill Volunteer Fire Company family, it is time for us to say goodbye to Squad 29. Squad 29 was acquired in 2017 from the Lincoln Fire Company, Whitemarsh Township. At the time of the acquisition, BHVFC was working on a consolidation plan, planning to replace our 1999 E-One Engine and 2000 E-One / Saulsbury Heavy Rescue. Due to both apparatus selling fairly quickly, BHVFC needed a rescue pumper to cover the time period of planning and building of the new Rescue Pumper to replace both sold pieces. (nearly three (3) years) Step in this 2012 KME Predator SS Engine.
This 2012 KME Predator SS Rescue Pumper has served us well since we were able to acquire it. It has held down the fort while the Apparatus Committee planned a new Rescue Pumper and then through the build process. On April 8, 2020, this truck was picked up at the Firehouse to be transported to its new home in Grand Rapids City, Michigan.
We wish Grand Rapids City Fire Department all the best and hope this apparatus serves them and their Community as good as it has served Whitemarsh Township!
